This 9-Free Nail Polish is BETTER than your typical gel manicure!

When I first started shouting from the rooftops that I found the best non toxic 9-free polish to everyone I know {mom, dad, sister – you name it, anyone with a ear was hearing it!} the response I was getting back was “wait what’s 9 free?”

-my eyes fell out of my face-

I rattled off the 9 chemicals that Londontown refuses to include in their polish {Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toulene, Camphor, DBP, Xylene, Ethyl Tosylamide, Acetone, TPHP}.

That was when I realized, there are SO many people who have no clue that conventional nail polish is oooozing with chemicals.

For about a year, I’ve taken an oath <personal, nothing crazy here> to only use clean beauty products. It has been quite the adventurous search for a clean nail polish that holds up as well as your typical ‘go to’ brands for conventional polish. I’ve tried a few that would last anywhere from an hour (not kidding) to a day (improvement right?) to about a work week – which seemed like my best bet.

It’s like I’m walking on cloud 9 pun intended I’ve finally discovered the mother of all 9-free polishes.

Londontown serves up an incredible color selection [I’ve been diggin Waterloo Sunset, Pass the Port and Kissed By Rose Gold, which were gifted to me by the company].

The Story Behind Londontown

Londontown polishes are vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, 9-free as I mentioned and infused with a blend of botanicals. The name of the company pays tribute to the family’s flower garden along with the family remedy {the Florium Complex} uses a blend of vitamin and botanical oils to restore, hydrate and strengthen nails! The Polish

Waterloo Sunset

The incredible team at Londontown sent me a few colors, along with their base & top coat to take for a test spin.

I’m not kidding you when I say that I had friends asking me if this was a gel manicure done at a salon… no girl, it’s better!

How to Apply

You’re right – it’s not rocket science for how to paint your nails. But if you’re like me and have always overcompensated by painting on 3+ coats of polish with hopes that it’ll last longer .. *spoiler alert* … that’s not necessary.

Kissed by Rose Gold
  • Step 1: Apply a thin coat of the nail hardener/base coat – allow a minute or so to dry, I like to do this in between each step so there are no smudges.
  • Step 2: Apply 2 coats of the nail color ~ yes, only 2. Trust me on this!
  • Step 3: Last, apply a thin coat of the gel genius top coat [this is the secret ingredient that gives that gel look, without the chemicals, holllla]

I am so impressed with how smooth the polish went on + it dried rather quickly – but also as a precaution, make sure you only paint your nails when you have some time to patiently sit afterwards and let them dry .. great excuse to binge watch your fave tv show [like Pretty Little Liars, the Perfectionists that I just discovered on Freeform] oooook.

Fave Shade? Is it possible to choose!?

Pass the Port

Which shade is your fave? I think Pass the Port takes the cake for me – but Kissed by Rose Gold is stunning too, reminds me of New Year’s Eve … I also love the subtle pink shade of Waterloo Sunset

This is a good indecisive opinion to have – I love them all!
