Is Starbs pumpkin cream cold brew worth it?

I’m a coffee snob, guilty. When it comes to my coffee order, it’s a dark roast – black. No cream, no sugar.. I want to be able to taste the actual roast, isn’t that the point of drinking a cup of coffee?

Just like any other basic gal, fall excites me for the release of pumpkin flavored treats. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin cookies and of course pumpkin coffee.

So when I heard that Starbs came out with a pumpkin cream cold brew, I was over the moon. Was it worth the calories? Would it be too sweet? I decided to give it a shot and WOW! It is SO delicious.

When you’re getting anything other than a black coffee, it’s best not to check the nutrition facts, because honestly… most speciality drinks are loaded with sugar.

What’s in a pumpkin cream cold brew?

To break it down simply, it’s cold brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with pumpkin cream foam with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice.

Total calories: 250 (grande size)

Sugars: 31 g

Total fat: 12 g

Okay – definitely not the low caloric intake of 5 calories when you get plain cold brew, buuut it’s lower in calories compared to a PSL (380 calories and 50 g of sugar).

How sweet is it?

In my opinion, it’s the perfect amount of sweet. Apparently, they put in two pumps of vanilla syrup, so to cut back, you can ask for just one. I think the best part about this drink is that it’s only topped with the flavoring, so it sinks in slowly to blend with the cold brew. PSL’s are blended and mixed beforehand, so I personally think the flavoring overpowers the coffee. Thankfully, that’s not the case here with the pumpkin cream cold brew. Mmm!

Cassie Says…

Yes it’s worth it! I wouldn’t get this every day, but it’s certainly a nice treat to celebrate the fall. Also with a rather hefty price tag for a cup of jo {almost $5 for a grande} your wallet will possibly suffer more than your sweet tooth on this one.

So when my bffs texted me after seeing me post on insta about this sweet drink, I said “YES, GET IT!” when they questioned how good it actually was.
