Yes, Drunk Elephant is the bee’s knees

I’ve been trying my hardest not to get roped into skincare lines that are out of my budget, but Sephora got me good on this one.

While picking up my Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen a few weeks ago, I finally redeemed my birthday promo at Sephora, which was the almighty mini duo of the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser and the Protini Polypeptide Creamaka the best dang duo I’ve ever put on my face.

The reviews on the Drunk Elephant website speak for themselves, but I’ll break it down for you …

Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

The first thing I noticed about this cleanser was that it has no scent at all, it actually gets sudsy on your face and it leaves your skin feeling so refreshed. Makes sense as the DE website quotes..

Beste™ No. 9 is formulated at an ideal, non-stripping pH level of 5.5. This cruelty-free product is vegan and gluten-free.

100% Free of essential oils, silicones and fragrance.

It’s received a ton of different beauty awards (not a beauty blogger, but veryyy impressive) and has a ton of 5-star reviews – so I’m not the only one who is loving this stuff!

The Drunk Elephant website suggests to use this cleanser at night, which will remove the day’s debri. But repeat in the AM? Not necessary. Valid point because overnight, your skin shouldn’t need it. Your face is not coming in contact with dirt, to the point of needing a second cleanse while you’re asleep.

For the full size product (5 fl oz), I would say $32 isn’t completely crazy.

Plenty of people say that since cleansers are instantly washed off, the ingredients don’t matter. I’m on the fence with agreeing.. but have no fear, with the Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser, you know you’re putting a product with clean ingredients on your skin – so it’s totally worth it.

Protini Polypeptide Cream

A little goes a long way. This is hands down the best moisturizer I’ve ever used. Not at all being overdramatic. It’s light weight and glides over your skin so smoothly, while also hydrating beneath the surface. As the brilliant minds at Drunk Elephant describe this one, it’s like “adding a shot of protein to your smoothie”.

Abundant with proteins and nutrients, it replenishes and restores your skin back to a strong, healthy state. Protini is formulated at the ideal pH level of 4.0.

If I could get an unlimited supply of this ~for free~, I’d never look for a new moisturizer .. but I pay my own bills and lawdd this little tub of magical whip is equivalent to two weeks of groceries. Trader Joe’s wins this one, sorry Drunk Elephant.

Cassie Says…

If you’re balling on a budget, I don’t suggest tossing this full size combo into your cart. It’s so good, that yes, you’ll get addicted instantly.

But if you get to the Sephora register and want to redeem your shopping points for a sample size, definitely give it a shot! Like I mentioned, the cleanser is borderline affordable, but the protein shot for your face? $68 for less than 2 oz… skip it sis.
